Salem Vision 2020
Oil and tinted gesso on 24" x 36" gallery wrapped canvas - 2008
I was asked to create a painting to portray my vision of Downtown Salem, Oregon and the Arts for Salem's Vision 2020 program. I used recognizable architectural elements for the background and portrayed the artists interacting with them. The dancer embraces the view, the musician sings its song, and the painter uses it as a surface. It was displayed along side other works of artists representing the different arts departments at Chemeketa Community College. The event, by coincidence, was held in one of the structures in my painting. It was quite an honor.
It was also exhibited in the Oregon Arts Annual at the 2008 Oregon State Fair.
